Our gardens

Nestled amongst 1.6 acres of vibrant gardens. Explore our magical property and enjoy an abundance of flora and fauna. Whether you are koala spotting in the gum forest, enjoying dinner under the giant fig, strolling through the fairy garden, soaking in Mount Lindsay from the viewing chair, or simply appreciating the rainforest garden through the cottage window. There is something for everyone at Barney Views Cottage.
Creek swimming

Located less than a 10-minute drive from the cottage, experience creek swimming at its best at Flanagan's Reserve. This friendly family-run reserve welcomes visitors to enjoy the fresh, natural creek. Enjoy a coffee, cold drink, or ice cream at the small store onsite while swimming.
Mt Barney National Park

Barney Views is within a 15-minute drive to Mt Barney National Park where you can enjoy hiking and climbing trails. Mt Barney is suited to experienced climbers, although there are some lovely small walks and creeks to be enjoyed by all at the base. For track classifications click here. Local wineries

Barney Creek Vineyard is just a short 15 minute drive from the cottage, their cellar door is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm, starting from the first weekend in April until the last weekend in August. If you love a day trip and your wine, be sure to visit The Overflow Estate 1895 winery, a 50-minute drive from the cottage. Enjoy lunch and wine tasting with dam views from the cellar deck. Appreciate the cellar door, restaurant, and lavender shop at Kooroomba Vineyard & Lavender Farm. Or pack a picnic and treat yourself to wine tasting at Bunjurgen Estate Vineyard, both just a 40-minute drive.
Rathdowney

The local town Rathdowney is a short 15-minute drive from the cottage. Here you will find the convenience store to stock up on supplies. The Rathdowney Information Centre and Historical Museum offers a wealth of knowledge on the local area and surrounds. Support the locals at the Rathdowney Country Markets, and enjoy a meal at the Rathy Pub while you're in town.

The Klan family has been farming this land for four generations, Nichole will welcome you into her farmhouse kitchen and teach you how to make fluffy, homemade bread from scratch! Explore Boonah & surrounds

Boonah is less than a 40-minute drive from the cottage. Here you will find cafes, wineries, and restaurants to enjoy. The Scenic Rim Brewery and Cafe is a must-do, enjoy a craft beer brewed onsite and a frozen treat from the ice creamery while being entertained with live music. Beaudesert and surrounds

Beaudesert is a short 35-minute drive from Barney Views Cottage. The Beaudesert Markets are held on the first Saturday of every month, from 7 am to 12 noon. Here you can enjoy live local music, food, local produce, and a variety of stalls. Just a further 10 minutes from Beaudesert you can visit the Towri Growers Market where you can enjoy produce direct from the farmers including meat, fresh vegetables, dairy, preserves, and baked goods. Towri Markets also have wine tasting, sheep milking demonstrations, and live music.
Lake Maroon

Enjoy a picnic, BBQ, fishing, and water sports at Lake Maroon. Located less than a 30-minute drive from the cottage. Stunning views of Mount Maroon can also be enjoyed from the Barney Views Cottage deck.
Queen Mary Falls

If you love to explore the waterfalls of the Scenic Rim, Queen Mary Falls is well worth the drive. Just over an hour away from the cottage, you can experience these magnificent falls. The Queen Mary Falls Circuit is a 2km walk, suitable for most ages and levels of fitness. Enjoy the 40-metre waterfall from the lookout. Pack a picnic or enjoy a BBQ at the Queen Mary Falls picnic area.
